Hello everyone. I'm hoping I can find some good advice from this forum.

I'm looking to upgrade my factory 2001 Escape head-unit with an aftermarket system. One of the primary things I am looking for is ipod connectivity through the unit. From looking at other sites there are three brands that I am looking at:

Alpine, Pioneer, and Panasonic.

Has anyone had any good experiances with these brands and which model are being used? I'm looking for something under $200 for the unit alone.

Also, I heard that the transfer rate from the ipod to a Alpine deck was faster than the other two. Any comments on this?

I like eclipse, awesome sq, but go to a shop, b/c I have also had good experiences with pioneer and alpine, I would get an eclipse, but you should get the one with the features you need...

I am not sure if you are still going to check this thread but I will answer anyway.

I would highly suggest going with Alpine. Eclipse makes really good head units too but tend to be more expensive. For $200, you will get a much better value from Alpine.
