I am considering adding this movie to my count.

How good is this movie?

Is it as good a story line as "The Ring"?

How is the PQ?

The movie itself sucked.

The PQ isnt bad at all tho (on an xbox add on anyways).
The AQ I couldnt comment on cuz I dont have the audio hooked up to surround yet.

I agree. I liked the PQ, but the MQ was not up too par.

I got it just for Kirsten Bell.

PQ was pretty good. AQ was very good if not bass heavy. The plot was interesting enough for the type of movie it is. I would not put it in the same league as The Ring though.

The Dolby True-HD sound was not that bad, but I did have probs with the disk on my A1, it froze up and locked up my player. I couldn't finish watching the damn thing.

The movie is mediocre at best, assuming you like J-horror. Its not in the same league as The Ring. Its similar to the Japanese movie of the same name aka Kairo. The PQ is good, and the bass will challange your sub.

PQ was decent. Tier 2 imo. The audio was top notch. The movie itself was OK. It wasn't that bad, but wasn't the best horror movie I've seen. Worth a rent at least.

There has already been a thread about this, but if you have a nice subwoofer, the scene near the end in the server room is a great test of your subs ability. I've never heard any movie ever that had as much sustained intense bass.

It's a really bad film. I thought it was bad because it couldn't decide what genre it wanted to be in. Teengage scary movie? Technology driven scare-fest? Or is it another end of the world film like 28 days? I didn't have a clue, and whatever genre it was mimicking at the time, it did so poorly.

The movie was really well shot, I never saw it in HD though. The sound was quite good in DTS. I watched it on a friend's nice surround sound system. It also has it's suspenseful scary moments. But, after all is said and done, I can't see someone wanting to actually watch it again.

good choice not to buy it IMO.

It's worth a rent just to test your subwoofer and "feel" the scene at the end.

It's genre is basically J-Horror. Granted, this is an Americanized version (with a happier ending), but it has some of the traits and flaws that go with the genre. The original Japanese version is better, but this was about as close as I would expect Hollywood to get. As a rule, Hollywood doesn't do this genre very well.

Reminded me a bit of a new-age Andromeda Strain. I'd say average overall, I personally wouldn't buy it.

My buying criteria: I only buy movies that the family will actually watch over and over again, which are many times children/classics and then if the children are basically only going to watch it most likely it will be the SD version so they can watch it anywhere and the fact animated titles still look killer in SD.

So you watch a movie to figure out what genre it fall into? It was a sci-tech horror-thriller, somewhat like a 28 Days without the grizzliness.

I thought it was a good rental at best, not worth it to own. I thought the Bass was over done. It challenged my sub, but at times it seemed to be too much.

The bass wasn't over done in proportion to the rest of the audio, it just went very low.

Great transfer, crazy bass, awful film.
