Hi,
I have just gotten a second HDTV, and I want to be able to have an HD DVR on it, like I do my first tv. I have DISH. When I contacted them, they said they will not lease a second HD DVR on the same account, so my only choice appears to be purchasing an HD DVR. When looking at the DISH site, the only one that appears they are using now is the ViP 622, which is what I have on my first tv.

I like the 622, my question is, do I have any other choices for HD DVR and DISH? And if so, are they less expensive, since basically a new 622 is going to be $500.
Thanks,
Gary

Nope. You might find an HD Sony DVR for less than $500 but you can't get the HD signal to it - only SD. If you could live with SD you could use a DVDr for timeshifting.

Well the 622 is configured for two tv's so you could just run the proper av cables to your second tv and share the DVR capability(it can still record HD it just would have to do it on the tuner which is defaulted to the first tv). One tv could be using HDMI and the other using component(the latter would preferably be used on teh closer tv for less signal loss). The remotes use RF so your second one should work in the distant room.
