There is none unless the XBR is out. KD and KV is just another manufacturing,
numbering, chassis, or tube difference.

I had email a ebay seller about this and he said>>>
if you have digital cable it has a tuner so you don't have to have a separate box, like encore wow and all those others, and all the channels will be digital in 2009 so basically everyone will have to by tvs and this one will comply with the new digital channels, it cutting edge technology
>>about the kd and the kv doesn't have that I guess?

Well, I believe that what I've already said is correct. Can anyone give me an example of a KV that has an ATSC tuner or a KD that doesn't? The SD models have switched to the KD prefix as digital tuners have been introduced (KV-xxFS120 > KD-xxFS130 & KD-xxFS170). I think the same is true of HD sets, with newer HDTVs having the KD prefix (KD-34XBR970) and older "HD-ready" displays having the KV prefix (KV-34XBR800).

B_BODY_1, the KV-34XBR800 doesn't have ATSC or QAM tuners, and I think it was released about four years earlier than the KD-34XBR970. The XBR970 is worth more.

I only have 2 to choose from
It seems like they have the same options but one is wide screen

KV-36HS500 $300-400 about 4 years old--not sure what I can get it for yet
KV-34XBR800 $400 about 4 years old
KD-36FS130 $275-ish about a year old--not sure what I can get it for yet but I didn't like that it doesn't have a dvi and or hdmi input

all 3 have there original remote

which one do you think I should get?

FYI, the KD-36FS130 is an SDTV.

which one do you think I should get?A few things to consider. The first two sets are HDTV capable but have a design flaw that is evident when 1080i is used as an input which can cause a scolling vertical bar to be seen.

The third set is a SDTV.

super fine pitch, i think
The KD-34XBR970 doesn't have SuperFine Pitch.

I think that the only models to have SuperFine Pitch were:

16:9
KD-34XBR960
KD-34XS955
KD-30XS955
KV-34XBR910

4:3
KD-36XBR960
KD-36XS955

I believe the KD-30XS955 has SFP as well.

I believe the KD-30XS955 has SFP as well. And the KV-40XBR800 did not have a SFP. I don't believe a KV-36XBR910 was ever available.

My bad, I fixed my previous post.

There is also 30 inch version of kv-xbr910. To my knowledge, kd-36XS955 was the only SFP consumer set that Sony produced in the 4:3 aspect ratio in the U.S.
