I think I read news about "The island" being released soon in France and Germany (maybe UK too?), but in case someone is interested, it's coming out in Spain too, on April 23rd.

Dolby Digital Plus 5.1, and extras are a Making of and a Trailer.

Thanks for the "heads up". I will have to order this from somewhere when it comes out.

Yes! If this keeps up, most of those BR "exclusives" will be mine in HD-DVD and I won't have to feed the Sony ego problem. ;)

A few newbie questions from a non-international buyer: I've only ordered my HD-DVD's from Amazon here in the US. I remember that HD-DVD's are not region-restricted, so does this mean that HD-DVD's released overseas can play for me normally here? NTSC here vs PAL over there is not an issue? Finally, what is a good place to compare prices in Europe, sort of like DVDPRICESEARCH here? Thanks.

Back on topic: loved this movie and would love to have it in HD-DVD!

I have Harry Potter from overseas and it plays fine. There's no region coding for now, and no PAL vs NTSC like with dvd. I bought Harry Potter at xploited cinema (http://xploitedcinema.com/catalog/hd-dvds-c-35.html?osCsid=9ab6b997df12a99d92039bf5462b8a44) which has overseas HD-DVD's at fairly reasonable prices.
