Here I am yet again with another question on my tv, the philips 26pw8402/37. Everything has been great for the most part, got the geometry 97% perfect a while back and a beautiful image for ps2 and dvd sources but after watching the simpsons off of a regular outdoor antenna I noticed transparent shadows (or ghosts according to some research on the 'net) on the right side of the image, people or chairs for example. Now it isn't the whole image just parts and some stations are worse than others.

I then thought I'd get out some bunny ears and see how good of a picture I got and how the ghosts were. It was about 2 or 3 times as worse compared to the outdoor antenna so I thought the ghosting must be a bad signal but I was wrong. I ended up hooking the satellite up in which there was a fair amount of ghosting, just not as bad compared to the antenna stations. That was around two weeks ago. Today I was playing shadow of the colossus and I noticed there was a fairly small amount of ghosting on the right side of Wander so what are some tips on getting rid of the ghosting, at least on my ps2 connection as I understand the antenna tv stations being bad or should I wait it out for awhile and trade in for a different tv? I'm actually very fond of this tv; cheap with nice quality so don't bash too much ;) thanks

I've got a similar set, the Philips 30PW8420/37B. I don't believe your set has HDMI as a connection option. I've found this to be clearly the best connection option. It produces crystal clear PQ using an attic-mounted antenna, fed thru an LG digital tuner.

I have noticed, however, when I switch to AV1 for using the VCR, the image produced thru composite (red, white, yellow) cables has a slight ghost to the right. So, your problem may be the connection you're using. Lacking HDMI, I'd recommend component (YPbPr) as the next best connection type.

Yeah I am missing the hdmi but I am using the component for PS2 and my DVD player. I haven't noticed it on the dvd player though so mabey I'll just switch them around and see what happans it won't hurt anyway.

Sadly it still does it in the other component slot, and after checking a dvd it does it there too so I'm not sure in what the problem is now as it does it on any type of connection so should I take it back for a replacement because I can't stand the shadows, they irritate me so much or is there some way to fix this?
