Too bad in the end you will be paying online prices.

This sounds interesting because the unit price after tax would be cheaper than some online stores. Now the problem is to find out which three to buy, :D

FreeBaGeL
02-19-07, 11:50 PM
25+25+30+tax (roughly $4) - 20 = $64/3 = $21.33 per movie in the best case scenario.

Decent deal for the people that like to buy B&M, even with the discount still cheaper on Amazon though for those willing to wait a few days.

You can sweeten this deal by going to Target.com and printing out the web prices and then take those in store for the price match. The Target prices are Amazon prices. I have had some success doing this for items I did not want to wait to ship from Amazon.

Fry's Electronics has the titles that are $25 for $20 and the ones that are $30 for $25 so don't take the bait unless you don't have a Fry's where you live.

That's the big question: can you price-match AND do this?

yeah i go to the best buy in knoxville, tn. all the time to get my hddvd's and i have never had a problem price matching from target.com, walmart.com, or circuitcity.com. i usually get the guys working in the actual dvd department to check prices.

I price match with target printouts all the time at BB.

This past weekend I had a reward coupon for 10% off. I went in to buy a movie and the computer at the checkout would not let me price match and take 10% off.

I have a feeling they will not let us price match for this deal.

Anyone think we could take the BB circular to another store and get BB's deal? Problem here is that my Target has a REALLY crappy selection and wouldn't be worth it. I have not been to a Wal-Mart and not sure if they price match. CC has BB prices so that won't work.

It's really suprising how so many people don't think about the price match at Best Buy. I use the Target approach each and everytime(I hate waiting for shipped movies)...plus if and when you use your rewards zone card over time you get coupons from them. Seems like a no brainer to me...price match for cheaper movies with no shipping, and earn free money.

They should change the add to...

Forget it. After my last shopping fiasco at Best Buy (trying unsuccessfully to get The Departed for $22.99), I don't know if I'll ever shop there again. They have consistently proven that they don't deserve my money. They'll have to be offering one hell of a deal for me to change my stance on this (this certainly does not qualify).

This concert on HD DVD is what encouraged me to finally move to an HD format. I was at the show (filmed in El Paso TX) and am really excited about it. I'm curious about the "ONLINE ONLY." Is that referring to the Price, or is the HD version only available online. I would think it would be available in stores, but seeing that there were only 2 copies of the Departed, its got me a little worried.

just got back from BB. They would NOT price match and let me take advantage of their deal. I know I still could have gotten comparable or better prices when all said and done at Amazon but I couldn't help myself.

If you go, look for the "300" promo DVD's. It has making of the film on it and includes a free movie ticket!!! The display listed a handful of titles you had to buy but the sunday ad says "any dvd". I didn't even have to question it and it automatically gave me the disc for free.

so the free movie ticket made my purchase today worth it.

Ugh. Too bad about price matching and the deal not working. I think I will still give it a shot when I go in Tuesday to pick up the Getaway. I'm hoping to get Superman and Forbidden Planet as well.

Good score on the 300 ticket. Hopefully they will have some left when I get in.

The price matching did not work for me either. They would either price match or do their sale but not both. Funny thing is the computer automatically took the $20 off after the price match but the girl would not complete the sale.

Lucked out today. In one NYC BB store I visited I found an HD-DVD of Superman: The Movie for $21.99. Picked that up along with Lucky Number Slevin and Clerks II for $24.99 a pop. At another BB store they had Superman II: Donner Cut also for $21.99. Picked up Under Siege and V for Vendetta with that one. The $21.99 stickers were misprints because all other HD-DVD's of Supes' first movies were $24.99. With the $20 off per order I ended up paying $15.88 for each of the Supes' movies and $18.05 for each of the other four. :) :)

03-02-07, 10:28 PM
Did this tonight on these titles:

Movie - Normal Price - Target Pricematch Price

Beerfest - $37.99 - $19.95
The Break-Up - $37.99 - $27.95
Four Brothers - $24.99 - $19.95

Total price = $67.85 before sale

Needed management approval to stack pricematch with buy 3 save $20 deal. The system would not take it so the manager took off $6.75 per movie.

$67.85
$20.25 (6.75 x 3)
---------
$47.65

Normal retail at BB $100.97

Amazon price = $67.85

Not a bad deal. The movies were picked over pretty good with no recent releases left.

I was also able to get the $20 off after price matching Target. I went to a different Best Buy. The first one would not allow it. I picked up 6 movies priced at 24.99 and price matched to 19.99. I did two separate orders. I guess some Best Buys are more lenient than others. They still don't seem to have Bullitt and The Getaway though which I am looking for.
