Got this off a description on a 46" Samsung DLP(HL-P4663W). Sure sounds to good to be true:

3rd Generation DMD Chip
offers the latest performance enhancement. The Texas Instrument DMD panel is immune to the factors that can cause the performance of other display technologies - such as cathode ray tubes (CRT), plasma display panels (PDP), liquid crystal display systems (LCD, LCoS, HTPS), and film to deteriorate with ongoing use. The DLP™ panel is insusceptible to the damaging effects of heat, humidity, vibration, and aging.

Would this tv (or I guess any DLP) have a problem with overheating if it is in an entertainment armoire?
We are going to look at this set tonight (the 42"). It's the largest set I can fit into the armoire, but there is little room to spare. The depth won't be a problem, there will be plenty of room for that.
Should I go back to looking at 40" lcds for this reason?

Thanks

As long as there is ventilation in the back, you're OK. The bulb gives off a lot of heat (with all microdisplays -- DLP, LCD, and LCOS). Is there a large hole in the back of the armoire for ventilation?

Thanks, Bill, that's good to know. Yes, in fact, the entire back of the area the tv will sit in can be removed.

Went into Sears tonight and ordered the Samsung HL-S4266W. It was sitting between the Toshiba and Sony (both 42") and looked much better than the Toshiba and almost as good as the Sony. They didn't have the best feed going to them.
Will pick it up Sat.
SO EXCITED!!!
