Got my HD1000U setup a few weeks back and now I'm looking at buying a gaming laptop (moving from my gaming desktop). I want to make SURE I can connect the laptop to my new 100" screen. (49"x100")
The HD1000U lists PC compatibility as : 640x480 1280x720 + Compressed 1280x1024 Sync on Green available.

So I will most likely get a WideScreen laptop which has a NATIVE resolution of: 1920x1200 (16:10 not 16:9 like the projector)

So will this scale right at 1280x720?

As long as your laptop can be set at 1280x720p over DVI or HDMI you can get great one to one pixel mapped res on the HD1000u. There is a thread on the HD1000 and VGA that talks about its VGA limitations.

I search prior to posted and tried HD100U VGA just now without luck on the thread you mention :(

Good luck.
