Just got the Tvix, and am currently running on component video. I want to switch to DVI, but my HDTV only takes HDMI. I am going to buy a converter cable, but I had 2 questions:
1)Is there a particular TYPE of cable I need? I have heard that there is single link, dual link, DVI-D, DVI-I, etc.
2)Is there any quality difference between brands? I figure digital is digital, but there are some expensive cables out there!!!!
Thanks,
Dave

Do not think you need anything special. As a DVI to HDMI cable only will distribute digital signals (I think). Single-link is enough if you need to know.
I purchased one of these DVI-HDMI cables ( http://svideo.com/dvihdmi2.html ).
It works very well and they have good prices (maybe not on component cables...). They even have free shipping (even to Europe!)
Many of my friends are using their cables, and not one of them has complained yet.
For your question no.2 I will not state that it does not matter with high-quality/expensive cables (and also avoiding starting a long discussion), but as a rule-of-thumb I would suggest that maybe go for a higher quality cable if you need a long cable (5-10meters). Shorter than that I don't think it matter.
Personally I use the 3ft DVI-HDMI mentioned above, while I use a Supra 10m from my scaler to my PJ. But as long as you only need to go from the tvix to your LCD/Plasma (<3meter) I would recommend the svideo.com cables.
The Supra cables is 1080i certified, although 1080p 50/60 worked excellent.
I have run the svideo.com cables on 1080i (maybe even on 1080p) without any problem (and that was with a 10ft cable).
Good luck.
