This is marginally on topic... since Macrovision makes VHS tapes un-copyable... but the article is priceless!

LOL. Great link/translation!!! This is good, Steve Jobs has created a stir that is expanding beyond music :-)

Funny that they call the mythical "interoperable DRM" an "open environment"!

Another quite funny episode concerning Jobs' essay:

RIAA Responds To Jobs' Open Letter Applauding Him For Agreeing To License FairPlay, Except He Didn't (http://consumerist.com/consumer/riaa/riaa-responds-to-jobs-open-letter-applauding-him-for-agreeing-to-license-fairplay-except-he-didnt-234846.php)

Priceless! The only one I would change is response number 2 "We’ve been helping and encouraging the entertainment industry to annoy its paying customers for more than 20 years."

I would change that to "We have been illegally preventing millions of paying customers from making back up copies of their legally acquired movies for more than 20 years now."

TheronfI find it amazing that the Macrovision CEO could write this with a "straight face".
