If I purchase those DVD recorders that also have a VCR, does that enable me to record a VHS movie to a DVD on that DVD/VCR player? I'm kind of new to this. Thanks a lot for helping.

Not if the Movie is copy protected as most "storebought/rented" vhs are. otherwise, yes in most cases.
