I am new to hdtv, I am about to purchase my first one, as of now I am leaning towards the Sony KDS-55A2000 SXRD screen. But I have seen mention of hdmi 1.3, what does this give over current hdmi ports?

Also, does the 55A2000 support 1080p input via hdmi I thought sony's site said it did support that via hdmi input, I thought I read somewhere though this set only supports 1080i input.

thanks all

55A200 acepts 1080p via hdmi...you should wait for the XBR coming in July/August...it is a long ways away but if you don't update your TV very often (4-5+ years), it might be worth the wait and extra money...should have picture quality improvments, hdm 1.3, and I think they said it will hit 120hz and the yycXZ color thing or whatever.

Here (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=789996) is a link to a thread in the HDMI forum where I give my take on what HDMI 1.3 gives you. That thread also includes HDMI_Org's very helpful discussion and responses.

Something to brag about? Currently, not much, but in the future, it will hopefully be a good standard that stick around for a while (more than 6 months it seems).
