Anyone done a comparison of the 2? I know the Moome card is available with the gamma card but has anyone added gamma to John's card?

I've tried all of them... moonjong, dtrovision, ophit, moome original, john's, and last week got moome's with gamma.

John's DVI and moome's original DVI+component cards were too close to call.

But IMHO, moome's new hdmi+gamma card is clearly a step above the rest.

Is there an NEC XG version of that Moome card? Or would I have to go external box?

Are running the Tosh directly to the card, or to a scaler first Clarence?

I run the HD-A1 to a Lumagen HDP to deinterlace to 1080P.

Clarence,

I have the first generation XG Moome, no second gen card for the XG currently available, but I am curious, what did you see that places the new Moome clearly a step above the rest?

Have not seen Moome's new HDMI card with gamma but so far Moonjong's external converter in passthru mode with HD from my HD-XA1 looks better to my eye's than Moome's current model without gamma .
Will need to try out the new card with gamma...

Do you have a link for information on Moonjong's converter?

Thank you,

Thanks for the info. I was happy with my O.G. moome card prior to selling it. But my equipment setup is being a pain right now, so an HDMI input card would make things easier to live with. I intend to buy Moome's new card fairly soon. Especially after reading what you posted above.

Can anyone verify that Moome's card works with the Toshiba XA1, A2, and PS3?

Clarence, does cliff have this new card ?Kind of... he has the NEC ISS switcher version (still HDMI+gamma) from Dec 2006.

I think moome made some slight changes on the Jan 2007 Sony IFB batch.

Hi !

I have moome´s DVI-card. Since I also have a VP-50 I can already adjust the gamma so would I benefit any real improvement in PQ-wise if I changed the dvi-card to HDMI-card ?

Artoj,

Moome mentions in his marquee HDMI card thread that it will have better black performance than the DVI version due to a color space issue with DVI. Plus it will be 10 bit. I can only imagine that the HDMI version card will be superior to the original DVI card. We won't know of course until it actually arrives.

I've read too many issues lately with Moome's HDMI card. It's making me lean toward John's card and not worrying about the gamma.

Thank´s CZ Eddie !

Hopefully also the issues people are having with Moome´s Sony HDMI-card will be solved - in this respect Moome´s DVI-card has worked in my G70 without any problems over a year already :)
