Help? HDMI support with Toshiba D-R5
I have a Toshiba D-R5 hooked up with an HDMI cable to a Toshiba 42HL196. I am not recieving any display/video or sound on my tv screen. Anybody know what I am doing wrong? I have tried changing the Input on my TV but nothing helps.
Anyone have any ideas? It works fine with the standard a/v cables but I want the upconversion that comes with the HDMI cable.
THanks
Here's a tip from another user that might apply(?):
"TIP: When you first unbox and plug this in to your TV using the HDMI port, you must hit the "V.OUTPUT" button on the remote before you will see any picture. Next, press the "RESOLUTION" button to select what you want the DVD player to output (480p, 720p or 1080i)."

Thanks Wabjxo,
But I tried that, didn't work. I don't get any display from the unit though the HDMI. No menu, nothing.

Determined it was a hanshake problem between the tv and the DVD recorder. This is how I fixed it.
1. Removed disc from player.
2. Turned off both units.
3. Unpluged the HDMI cable from the dvd player then reconnected it.
4. Unpluged the HDMI cable from the tv then reconnected it.
5. Powered on the TV then selected the HDMI input.
6. Powered on the dvd player then pressed the V. output and selected the resolution I wanted.
Everything is working!
