I cannot for the life of me find someone that i trust knows enough to come out and calibrate my 51F710S. Is there a thread i am missing somewhere or does anyone happen to know anyone in my area that can do what i am looking for? I live in the Sacramento Metro area.

I don't mind paying for a good job done on calibrating my TV, but i don't want to waste my money on someone that doesn't know the in's and out's of properly calibrating a RPTV.

UMR is in Texas, but takes trips to the West Coast. They are both outstanding. You can read about them and others by following the "Owner's Reports" link at the bottom of my post.

I would have to recommend Bob Jones (aka Mr Bob). He lives in the Oakland area, and travels often. I just had him out here in Atlanta, as part of a DC/Atlanta/St Louis tour, and I can't speak highly enough of his skill, and knowledge in HDTV calibration. He made my Pioneer PRO 510HD look better than it ever has since new, INCLUDING the calibration I had done in the first year of its life. Mr Bob is practically your neighbor, and well worth contacting...I can't beleive you haven't found him on your own!

You can also read reports from Bob's customers in the link at the bottom of my post. It seems that he does a lot of outstanding CRT based work.

You're in Sacto and Mr Bob's in the Bay Area (about an hour and a half or so from you). Easy call. Go with him. He has done lots of cals on Hitachis, I beleive. And the mileage charges won't kill ya.
