I posted the following over in the IFBHD thread.

Seems like every post I've read regarding the Moome Sony IFBHD card with gamma has been glowing. Guess I'm just snake bitten

Using the same set up as I had with the DVI IFB card, I get only HDMI error 1 when attempting to play SD or HDDVD from my HD-A1.

I get no picture at all from my Samsung T165 HD sat box.

The only thing different in my chain is a DVI to HDMI adapter I am using to convert the pin out at the IFB card. I doubt this is the trouble I'm sad to say because I do get a menu from the A1 prior to attempting playback. And the card does work to my other sat receiver, a HS-20.

Now I really hate HDCP :(

Guess tomorrow I'll pick up another adapter from RS instead of the $5 monoprice I'm using to totally eliminate that possibility.

Best part is now I'm totally hosed. The guy that originally ordered the HDMI card I have is getting my WORKING DVI card as well as my Momitsu DVD player.

Oh well, more time to surf the web :)

LATE NIGHT EDIT

Some of my best ideas come when I can not sleep!

I need to confirm this, but I just got the player to work over HDMI flawlessly, multiple times, both SD and HDDVD by changing the resolution from 720p to 1080i.

See the HS-20 sat box that is normally connected to the upstairs plasma, and was the only source that played earlier is set at 1080i. The other two sources where both set to 720p.

I'll look into this more tomorrow.

Good night :)

Got it working now fellas.

Guess I should not have assumed that because I was replacing a working DVI card at the end of a nearly unchanged video chain that it would simply work.

Removed the power from everything. That got the A-1 working flawless.

I got the T-165 HD sat box to work by moving it to port 5 at the monoprice HDMI switcher.

Have to tell ya'll, this is a must have product. PQ is simply outstanding over HDMI. Component is good, but all sources are sharper over HDMI in my set up.

A quick black and white level calibration changed brightness from 47 to 30. Contrast from 80 to 72.

Moome, you have outdone yourself Sir.

Contrast in the 70's and brightness in the 30's....try reversing that.

It would look like a digital pj then.

Those settings work best for me. 65 to 70 contrast, 25 to 35 brightness.
