Samsung HP-S5053 vs. Sharp LC45D40U
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am currently replacing a Samsung 5087 1080p DLP that I have absolutely have had it with. The lamp went out in less than 6 months and that with very, very light viewing (less than 200 hours). It was my main Home Theater TV. I am down to the Sharp LC45D40U Aquos LCD or the Samsung HP-S5053 Plasma for a replacement. I can get them both for about the same price at Sears, less than $100 in price difference between them brand new including a five year warranty. About [EDIT]. I just can't make up my mind. I love both TVs. The Sharp has amazing PQ. So does the Samsung. I am really hoping that the 5053 plasma is in a different class than the DLP that I am getting rid of. NO burn in worries with the Sharp but honestly the Samsung has been in our Sears for almost a year on torch mode and has no signs of burn in at all. So that won't be a deciding factor. I have read threads until my eyes are tired. I guess I am just worried about making the wrong decision. ANYONE... who cares to add info to my post...PLEASE DO SO. The only thing I am unsure about the Sharp is it's size of 45". I don't want it to be too small if you know what I mean. Give me your very best advice.
Thanks....
