Chase down a program called "pjcalc" it will give you answers to a number of mounting scenarios, then bring the G70 forwards about 5% of that...if your going to MAX the rasters.

My screen is a 16:9 format 92" wide (not diagonal).

My G70 is ceiling mount angled down ~12-14 degrees. The screen is 114" off the green lens If I measure along the ceiling.

Rasters are pretty much max'd out. PJ Calc tends to be conservative.

A fellow autoCAD user.... :D
you do need to alter your dimension style....that standard one is crap.

The big mistact I made was using the factory specs on my 1292.When I redo it I will max the rasters-put the pj on the floor and move it back until it totally fills the screen. Then measure that distance and thats where it will go on the ceilling

AJF,
Would you mind posting a printer friendly image of that drawing, ie white background with black lines. I'm installing a G70 using a 4:3 screen thats also 92" wide. I think the same geometry will apply if I reference screen center. I have pjcalc and the installation manual but want to use maximum raster.

Thanks,
Jimmy

Guy's,

PJ calc is not that far off from where the PJ needs to go. What it does is assume highest input frequency in it's calculations.
If you want to use maximum raster, then input the highest resolution/refresh rate you will use on the PJ while still on the floor at about the same relationship to the bottom of the screen that the PJ will be to the top of the screen when ceiling mopunt. Fire it up and moving the PJ back and forth find out where you will use max rater. Translate that to the ceiling.

Chuckuf,
Im using pjcalc version 5.2. There must be a later version. My copy doesn't include an input parameter for frequency.

Oh I think I see what you meant. Feed the projector the highest resolution not enter it into the program; Never mind. Did find a newer version though; 5.4. Looks the same. Maybe they added some more projectors.
