Can a HD signal skip to somwere else and the analog be clear? I had this, this morrning it was a skip, but I could recieve the station clear, but I could not get the HD signal. I was pretty sure that the HD signal was turned on because I was able to get the call letters, but not the signal.
The HD signal is 1/100th the power of the analog and requires a more steady signal to be decoded, so it's not suprising that you heard the analog but couldn't lock onto the signal's HD.

Can they ever make it more powerful? Because I find myself rather listening to the analog because the Digital will only lock in for a few moments or unless I stay still which isn't going to happen.. Honestly HD radio for a car is overboard to me if they can't fix the reception issues..

First of all, it takes less power...MUCH LESS...to cover the same area with digital. All that's necessary is that the decoder be able to tell the difference between a one and a zero. It doesn't have to be "noise free". But yes, power levels will likely increase. What we have now is the "rollout mode" for HD Radio. The plan has always been to edge power up...careful not to get high enough to cause interference.

I think one problem is that under the hdradio.com listing areas is they are labeling some in the wrong cities. There's a station I'd love to get for hd...trouble is I can't get it because they listed the wrong city...they have a sister station that has the hd 1 portion but not the hd 2 (yet) Some of the newer stations it's listing for the future have more sports...there's one college station I wish would come in better but their power is pretty low (I'm surprised anyway that a college station would make the jump anyway)
I'd say maybe 20-25% of the spectrum I get for FM is in hd...for AM there's only a small bit...if the high power am would combine with the hd signal I think that would be great...right now I get maybe 3 am ones but if I could get some of the ones from NY that would be good (say 1130, 660, 770 etc)
