I have the option of buying the 9UK and the PX600U for the same price.
I know that the 9UK will have more options to control the picture settings/quality but does not come with stand/speakers/inputs (available via card)
On the otherhand the PX600U comes with everything that 9UY does not but has less picture control settings and comes with a stupid silver bezzle.
From what I can tell there is no other difference. Am I missing something. Will I regret going with a PX600U (because I am lazy) in terms of lost picture quality due to picture adjustability?
Why does TV buying have to be so complicated?

The 9UK is an HDTV monitor and, as you told, does not come with tuner, stand and speakers. The professional line or Panasonic plasma display do come with 1:1 pixel mapping for perfect pixel alignment with computer as input device. The consumer models does not support this. This is important especially if you wish to setup a HTPC since with this, you won't get any over/underscan.
As for the display itself, it is the same technology behind it, AFAIK. Also, the 9UK line has limited input capabilities and you have to buy separate "blades" or terminal boards.
I second you on the ugly silver bezel.. And I think that Panasonic had to rethink its design since the upcoming models (2007) will come in all black glory.
i think you can score quite a gool deal on the 600U as of now due to the newer models about to being released. Despite some downsides of the 9UK line, I still prefer buying this mainly due to minimalist and pure design.
You may contact Iamnewbiecheez or bruzzi regarding the pro line of panasonic display, they are quite familiar with them, much more than me.
Hope this helps,

To my eyes, the PQ on the 9uks that several friends have look better than the PQ on the 60u that several neighbors have. There are a lot of factors in there (set up, lighting, feed, etc), but I've never seen a 60u look better than a 9uk while I've seen several 9uks look better than 60us.
