I am sorry for asking this, but I have been searching for a long time. (including last night)

I just can't seem to find good picture settings, I found a few threads but they were awful looking at least to me.

If anyone can give me some picture settings to try i would appreciate it. I need them for XBOX 360 on componet and for my Toshiba HD-XA2 on hdmi and also for standard def viewing. Or if there is settings that are good all around than please let me know.

Thanks so much.

Unfortunately, the subjective plays a strong role in what the settings should be. On my 52631, I use settings similar to hardballpete, but I have the picture set to Natural instead of Bright, because to me Bright crushes the whites and blacks, and the contrast turned up to the 50's because that seems to help with shadow details. On the color control, I turn the green down slightly and blue up slightly to get rid of the grayish tint to the whites that comes from the Natural and Low color temp settings.
I suspect there are also set to set variations because of the lamps in addition to personal preference. What I did was to spend the time trying people's suggestions, tweaking them to my eye until I got something I was happy with. BTW, I also spent a fair amount of time tweaking the set DVD input settings, and my Oppo DVD player settings before I was happy with the picture on DVDs.

I did this and mixed in Legg's suggestions and i'm loving the TV so much more now.

Why aren't there many people discussing this tv, that kind of makes me worry.....?

I think Mitsubishi no longer has a big share of the market, so there just aren't that many out there. They don't help by limiting where it is sold. Too bad; in the old rear projection CRT days, Mits was one of the leaders. They seem to be trying to come back with aggresive pricing. I almost bought the Sony 50A2000, but the cost of this TV was about 20% lower.

If you get INHD over cable @ 7:00 am Sunday mornings is a 10 minute program called Tuneup. It gives you a few patterns to help set brightness, contrast and color levels. Very elementary but useful. I record it to my Motorola STB-DVR so I can use it to help with setting up the 52631 in various lighting conditions. You can use any of the more sophisticated dvd programs for setup but that will only help when using your dvd. I've found that the dvd setups do not transfer well to the cable or OTA settings.

Actually a lack of discussion on the 52631 may be a good thing for us owners as maybe we have fewer problems to discuss?? I get most of my info off of the threads on our bigger brothers where there's more discussion of issues
