I bought my first projector, the HD70, last week. I'm building an HT room and wanted the projector now so I can determine wiring and mounting needs. I know very little about projectors, set-up, calibrating, etc. I plan on a ceiling mount, my ceiling is roughly 7.5' high. I have set the projector up in another room to check it out and like the picture, without adjustments or calibration. When I set the PJ on a stand and project on the screen, I have noticed the picture is higher up on the screen, so I'm assuming if I mount the PJ upside down, the picture will be below the PJ on the screen. I haven't decided how I am going to mount the PJ, whether upsided down with a mount, or build a shelf and mount it right side up. If I mount it right side up, how do I adjust the PJ to display the picture so it is below the PJ on the screen - my screen will be about 8" off of the floor.
Hope that's not too confusing.

You dont have to mount the PJ upside down.... there is a setting in the menu to swap the direction that the image is projected.

I think Droff is asking about the lens shift function that some higher end projectors come with, not the direction that the image is projected from, right Droff? The function that tattootearz is talking about are generally used for going from rear projection to front projection or inverse mounting (mounting upside down) or regular mounting. The HD70 is made to be put on a coffee stand or closer to ground level when projecting right side up. If you would like to have the HD70 behind you and not blocking the projection path, you'd have to inverse mount either on ceiling or building a shelf behind you. Liek you, Droff, I'd like the have the image as low as possible to be fully immersed instead of jerking your head up looking at the screen( feels like arriving at the local theaters too late, why do that when you've invested so much to have the theater at home?) My room is about 19' deep and if I build a shelf on the back wall, the HD70 will be about 18' away from my screen shooting a 133" diagonal screen and I plan on sitting about 13-14 feet away from that screen and having it about 1' off the floor ( I have a center speaker).
