Sorry if this has been covered, but I couldn't find the answer with a search.

I'm looking to buy an Epson TW700 which has one HDMI input. I'm also planning to buy a Shaw (Canadian television provider) HD PVR and a Toshiba HD-A2. From what I can gather, it seems to make sense (quality and features) to connect both devices to the projector with HDMI, right? Given that, I guess I'll need an HDMI switching receiver, which I haven't selected yet, but I do like some Yamaha and Denon models.

I have heard that some HDMI versions (1.1/2/3?) can't pass through a receiver, they need to be hooked up directly. Is that true? I don't want to buy these three devices and find out later I can't hook them up. Are there any issues I should be aware of?
