FWIW, the eBay extended warranty is a load of crap. They called me as a seller to let me know what they could offer. I asked them how many CRT warranty depots there were, and they proudly told me that there were over 10,000 in North America.

I've gotten emails from customers saying eBay offered them extended warranties on as is 'my reject' tubes that I was dumping on eBay.

Future Shop (Best Buy owned) replaced a DVD player that I bought an extended warranty on 2 years ago. It has 4 years on it. The second Panasonic DVD player that I got after the first one died was deemed unrepairable, as the laser was too much to warrant replacement. I got a better DVD player with HDMI output and upscaling feature. I was then offered ANOTHER extended warranty for $19.99, as I was told that the original extended warranty would not extend to the replacement unit.

Sounds like crap to me, in fact I'm going back tomorrow to find WHERE IN THE FINE PRINT IT IS that states that the 4 year extended warranty that I bought doesn't transfer to a replacement DVD player.

Curt,

Haven't you already gotten like 9 replacement DVD players out of that one extended warranty?

This is in fact the load of pooh that it sounds like. I had to take my first Xbox 360 back after Microsoft hosed it with one of their precious updates when I put in Tiger Woods 07. I was asked if I wanted to purchase another warranty for the new one. WHAT???!!! They showed me in the fine print (and it was VERY FINE PRINT) where when they replace the 'old' item, that warranty is complete and another one will have to be purchased to cover the new one. Actually the warranty on the first Xbox 360 was 'only' $49.99 and the new one was $59.99. I read somewhere on the net that BB was 'losing' money on the Xbox 360 warranty program. With the abysmal failure rate that the Xbox 360 had, I can see where this could be true. I was pleasantly surprised when the new DVD drive did not sound like a jet engine like the first one did.

And just so the mods can't say this is off topic; it looks GREAT on the G70. I just got the HD-DVD add on and I can say that King Kong looks AWESOME!!!
