My son is going to buy one of these as soon as his tax return comes in, but when I told him that I read some owners posts here indicating that the flesh tones on some units were green and that green grass looked more like Astro Turf he started getting scared.
Is this a problem and should ne be looking at some other projector?
Thanks.

Most of us have not seen that or considered it an issue. The normal response (if you look at the HD1000 owners thread ) is wow.

I am actually one of the people who posted issues with this, possibly in AVS, and also in the Projector Central reviews. I thought I saw more greens in flesh tone than with my H31, went into user settings in color balance and brought down green contrast and brightness. Didn't work for me. But then I brought those back up to 0, and brought red and blue contrast and brightness up. This completely eliminated the problem to my eye. I have installed two HD1000s for family members now, and am buying mine next month. The HD1000 is phenomenal.
I love the image qualities of the 1000u. The greens and flesh tones look great when properly calibrated.
Although, I did enjoy several movies way before I even calibrated it.
I very much recommend one.

Thanks for the replies. I'll pass the good news along to my son.

Well I calibrated my hd1000 last night with my spyder2 and there is definitely a "green push" out of the box, but its easily fixed.

Fernando, since you have the Spyder2, how about giving us your final settings to check out? I'm one of the posters that has the green push in flesh tones. Thanks in advance.
I am one that has posted about the greenish tint to yellows however the weird thing is that the fleshtones are great!
For that reason I have not tried adjusting anything yet other than the gamma mode and the color temp. Next month I am getting the DVE HD DVD and I will try to calibrate some with it.
My out of the box pic is great with that greenish push to the yellows being the only gripe and it is very minor.
