View Full Version : Attention Sharp Dt-500/xv-z3000 Owners!!!
Aloha Everyone!!
This is for all Sharp DT-500 and XV-Z3000 owners using an HDMI cable.
Can you post what your PJ reads on the screen when you hit the "input 6" button on the remote control?
Does it say "VGA" or "Component" or "HDMI"?
Also, are you able to get into the Color, Tint and Sharpness in the main menu.
Thanks for your time.

Mine says Component, and I have access to all the functions(except phase and something right below it) with a Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD player.

Thanks Muzz. Do you have a DT-500 or an XV-3000.
Also, do you have an HD Cable box or Satelite box, and does it say the same thing with it?
Both my TW 8300HD and my Panny S97S say VGA.
When it was hooked up to a Pioneer Blu Ray player, it said Component.
DT500
I've only hooked up my HD-A1 through HDMI, and it says Component( I took it off Auto, and selected component for faster synch),I should have mentioned this to you before(thought about it), but I didn't think it mattered, because there was nothing you could do with your outboard gear.
Sorry about that b.
I have hooked up 2 different component signals through both component inputs, and obviously they both say Component as well, and I can access the controls there as well.
I DO have a Motorola 6200 cable box with DVI out, but it's running component out right now..
Would you like me to try a DVI-HDMI cable to see what happens?
kiwichev 02-23-07, 08:27 PM Mine also says component on the hdmi input
OK, I hooked up my Motorola 6200 Cable box up via DVI-HDMI..
RGB Input, and NO access to Color, Tint, or Sharpness, I still have access to the Memory settings I had before, which helps.
Just as I suspected.
CMS is still available though, and Hue and Color could be adjusted there if necessary.

Thanks for going to all that trouble. It will be interesting to hear from more owners. I guess my 3000 is doing what its supposed to do.
Hey SJK!
I guess you got back from that shopping spree at Bosco!
I am still leaving the jury out on the matter until I hear from a few more owners, but it looks like it is working.
It is still strange, however, that my last one worked with my components and this one does not! Curiouser and curiouser.
Aren't there any other owners of these PJs out there that can check this out for me? Maybe everyone is just having a good time watching them instead of hanging out on the forums.
bubbawilly 02-24-07, 09:03 PM 720P HDMI input displays "Component" on my z3000. Makes no sense, as component is analog.

Thanks Bubbawilly. Confuses heck out of me as well, especially since mine says VGA.
What type of cable box and or dvd player are you using?
bubbawilly 02-24-07, 10:33 PM I'm using a Pioneer Elite DV-59AVi set to 720P over HDMI.
Interesting. The 59AVi is a nice machine!
Thanks to everyone that has responded to this post. Are there any other Sharp owners that can check on this situation and post their results here?
Thanks ahead of time.
doodlehawk 02-27-07, 11:38 PM I have a Denon 1930ci connected to my z3000 via HDMI, and it also reads "720p Component". Everything works fine though.
As to losing control of the Sharpness, Color, Tint settings, when the dvd player/projector are set to send/receive an RGB signal, you will lose those controls in the projector menu.
