Just wondering what the best component to VGA transcoder is. Key Digital? Audio Authority? I remember there was one that wasn't so great. I just want to connect an older CP72's faroudja component output to my projector and I don't have a long component cable, but I have a VGA cable (and could use VGA passthrough on my iScan HD+ too although it's not essential).

Please let me know what the best VGA transcoder is.

thanks,

:)

I have the keydigital one (older model) and it works great. Don't know if it's the "best", but it works like it supposed to and I've had no issues with it in 2.5 years of use.

Fair enough. I just see so many different transcoders it's weird. I was just searching and found a cheaper model by Enhanced VD-Z3, and a Crescendo RTC2000 etc.

Stay away from the VDigi, go with the Crescendo. It is an excellent transcoder. Many, many people on the forums use it, and it was indeed developed right here in thee forums. I tried the Vdigi because it was so cheap, but found that you get what you pay for.

I am also wondering if it is possible for me to just use a converting cable from component to VGA connection. Some projectors can decode that colour space through the VGA port, while others cannot I wonder if my Hitachi TX 200 needs the signal to be transcoded or not.
