View Full Version : How da hell do you run Bose Sub to Sub Input on the Receiver
IamAnoobieCheez 02-24-07, 12:42 PM Hi gals n boys.
I have an awesome Bose Acoustimass 5-series speakers. :D :p :p :p
I have a Panasonic SAXR-57 receiver and trying to run cubical speakers to the left and right channels output of the receiver but the Bose Sub does not have the RCA connector so it cannot be connected to the RCA input on the back of the receiver for the sub.
What can I do to remedy this problem? I want the sub goes straight to the sub output of the receiver. It requires a RCA connection.
Uhm, you dont do that.
You connect the cubes to the bass module and the module to the l/r outputs of the receiver.
No other way around it.
What can I do to remedy this problem?
I wont even go there with that one.
New speakers and sub would be the easist and best solution.
Otherwise, you cannot use the "sub/LFE" out from the receiver. The cubes must be connected to the AM module to work properly.
AFAIK, all you can do is run the left/right speaker cables from the receiver and connect to the AM. Then the cubes from AM.
IamAnoobieCheez 02-24-07, 02:03 PM I know that's how it's suppose to be setup but I was asking if the sub itself can be connected to the sub output of the receiver. Since you say it cannot be done that way oh well...... The problem is I can't get any bass with the proper setup. The receiver is set to stereo. I tried to increase the bass and I hear the bass from the cubical speakers and not the bass subwoofer. What am I missing here? I want the bass where it's suppose to come out, not the cubes.
IamAnoobieCheez 02-24-07, 02:07 PM My old Sony receiver worked great. I get bass from the sub, why this Panny SAXR-57 won't let me..... me don't get it. Am I suppose to do some special tricks to get any bass outta my sub? if so, what is it. :D
If you hear bass from those cubicals, then you have other issues.

Ok, what is the issue.
Let me tell you a little more about my setup. The sound is coming from my HTPC. It has a sound card that outputs sound in stereo. I simply set the Panny receiver to stereo, no other channels like dolby pro logic or any of that sort. The bass is almost absent in my Bose sub. Only the cubes are working up hard and because of the bass it's trying to output I can't increase the volume much because it can hurt them. ANy ideas?
Have you setup the Pana receiver properly? As in "NO" to subwoofer?

That I did not check. Let me check it right now.
IamAnoobieCheez 02-24-07, 02:35 PM Yosh70, I can't seem to find where it gives me the option to set the subwoofer to "NO". I can set it to 0, 10, 15. I set it to 0 but made zero difference. The receiver is set to "CD", because the stereo cable is going to the CD stereo(left and right) input on the back of the receiver. I'm still hearing the bass from the cubes and hardly from the sub. I hear a little bit of bass from the sub but nothing like Im suppose to be getting. what am I missing here. help plz.
Am I suppose to use a different input and not the CD? The other ones are for multi-channel speakers for surround & bass system. I didn't think they would work.
The settings are there.....obviously you dont have a manual.

Make sure your speakers are set to "large" also.
If you do have a manual... reading and/or referring to it can help. :)
