is it me or is it that people that are into home theater are more skeptical when it comes to cables and tweaks and their costs.
1) is it because of the nature of ht equipment sound?
2) is it because of the extra cost that it would require for multi channel systems?
3) is it that they just don't care about the sound quality?

i will also post this on a mostly 2-channel site and link it later.

I think it's none of the above but 3 comes the closest. That's because IMO they're 2 different hobbies - at least for me. 2 channel listening is serious audio where the ultimate reproduction is the utmost. HT is about watching movies or in my case, watching bands play music. I always want to hear good sound on concert DVDs but its a lost cause with the poor quality of recordings that is common now-a-days.

some people on the forum have suggested that because video is involved ht folk are distracted by the video portion and also since they buying a complete ht system after the purchase of the big screen there is not much leftover forupper end audio.
one guy ststed that while you can purchase very good ht audio equipment it would be very expensive.
