I've decided to hang on to my G70 for a few more years and plan some upgrades to my HT. I'm want to add HD-DVD and a PS3 using Moome's HDMI card. I also want to try a constant area 2.05:1 screen setup. The problem is going to arise that all my HDMI sources will use the same frequency memory and the same settings. I want to be able to have a different memory slot for each of the following:

1.) PS3 with raster set for 16:9
2.) PS3 with raster widened for 2.05
3.) HD-DVD same as #1
4.) HD-DVD same as #2

I saw a mention of video memories in one of my manuals but they don't provide all the settings I need. In my old XG this would have been a piece of cake. Can this be done with the G70's memory structure and if so how?

Not sure I understand your question. If you're trying to create seperate memory blocks that coorespond to the various ARs, you need to switch to an unused input memory, adjust raster size and converge, then save that memory block. This process is somewhat easier if you have later firmware that allows you to manipulate memory blocks from the special service menu.

These memory blocks will require manual selection, but this can of course be automated with a universal remote or controller.
