I finally got around to getting all of my AV equipment into a "homerun" closet I dedicated during the build of my house. Everything works except that I get audio and no video from my Pioneer DV270 DVD player. I'm sure it's my fault and an improper connection but I'm at a loss for what to try next.

I've got a Satellite STB that's working just fine through the HK AVR635 receiver but the video out to the TV (via RG6) comes straight from the STB. I've got an RF Modulator but I'm not sure how to integrate it into the system (it was in use with this system before the addition of the HK and the Surround Sound system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Richard,

(In case you're still having trouble) What connections are you using for the DVD player? I use an optical connection for audio from my HK DVD 31 to the HK AVR 635, along with component (three wire) cables for the video. I then scroll through my TV's menus to ensure that the TV monitor itself is on a proper channel for DVD, and have had no problems.

Thanks for the reply. I finally got it (amazing what a good nights sleep will do for you thought processes  ). I realized the next day that I had video in to the HK but no video OUT. I hooked up an S-video out to a video switcher and (once I programmed the Harmony 550 remote) all is working as planned. Once I hook up my IR system it'll be really right.

Resurrecting this old thread because I'm having a similar issue again. Bought a new Sharp Aquos LCD and I'm feeding it HDTV from my Motorola STB over HDMI. No issues there. I had the DVD routed through the AVR645 with composite audio and S-Video. Output was S-video through a switcher to RG6 to the old TV.

What I'm attempting to do is send the video signal via component video and Coax audio using the HK's default settings for DVD connection. The problem is I get only audio over the HDMI! The only video I get is the OSD. Any suggestions on how to get this working properly.

BTW, I e-mailed HK tech support but thought the gurus here might be faster replying!

Thanks,
Richard
