View Full Version : Is the Athena AS-P400 shielded? kurt_fire 02-25-07, 03:11 PM Anybody know? I checked Athena's website and it doesn't say. John F. Palacio 02-25-07, 03:37 PM Most subs are NOT magnetically shielded. I do not know the specifics on this sub, but... if it does not specifically state it, Inwould bet it is not. kurt_fire 02-25-07, 04:42 PM Well I have one sitting an inch away from my TV on the left side. Ever since putting it there the right 2 inches of my TV screen is very blurry. could the sub be causing this? John F. It normally afects just parts of the screen. If your whole screen is blurry then you probably have a different problem. kurt_fire 02-25-07, 08:36 PM The usual symptoms of gaussing on a CRT are loss of convergence and color impurity. TV still is blurry. DVDs, XBox 360, and cable all are blurry/fuzzy on the right side. It's about 1/3 of the screen on the right...and gets progressively worse the further towards the edge. John F. The field comes from the permanent magnet in the woofer. You need to physically move the sub away from the set. If the gaussing is not severe, several cycles of turning the TV on and off will cure it. If the gaussing is more severe you will need to use a degauss coil. You need tp know how to use it, though. |
