I have a Pioneer Elite PRO-720HD display that has 1 VGA-type RGB input, and 2 component inputs that all support 1080i.
I was using the component inputs with a Blu-Ray and an HD DVD player. The RGB input was used by a Sony SAT-HD300. Unfortunately the Sony DirecTV box died and none of the current boxes offer RGB output. FWIW I am replacing it with a series 3 TiVo.
I'm searching for the best way to connect the 3 devices now that my RGB input is useless. Am I best off to track down a Component->VGA device, or just find a component switcher? I'm not really certain what's involved in turning component 1080i into a signal that my RGB port can use.
Specific product recommendations would be particularly helpful. I will spend what I need to in order to avoid signal degradation.
