I have purchased a Sirius radio but have not activated it yet. My plans are to activate it for only one month at a time, 2 or 3 times a year, when we go on long trips. I know I will have to pay an activation fee each time but in the long run I will be ahead of the game since I am not in my car all that much other times to take advantage of it (retired). According to an email from Sirius I cannot just pay for one month and then let it expire. I must contact them to deactivate it or it will automatically renew for another month.
My question is--Am I looking at extended aggravation trying to get them to respond to my wishes?
Thanks for your comments.

Oh yes..
Get a home docking station and the long period of times you're not using it in you car listen to it at home for a month or two, you my find out you like it and it's worth leaving it activated year round.

You have to call up to cancel. If you dont mind waiting on hold for someone in India to answer your call and piss you off with their barely functional use of English, and then the same thing each time you activate - because the radio needs to be turned on to get the signal at the proper time - then go ahead. To me its not worth the hassle to keep doing it and I would keep it activated all year.

I had an extra reciver we were not using jhust sitting around just because I did not want to call and deal with them to shut it off. When I wrecked my SUV I called to cancel my account altogether and ended with $200 worth of free equipment and no contract to keep me as a customer. But yes I can agree, it is the biggest pain trying to get through to them.
