I plan to upgrade my Denon 2200 to either the Denon 2930CI or the 3910. Both sell for around $800 in NJ and my dealer says they both have the same DACs. My tv is a Sony rptv lcd that can play up to 1080i.
Any suggestions on which player is better for both video and audio?
Thanks, Ron

2930CI is better for video; 3910 for audio.
3930CI for both.

Thanks, RonIf your TV is 1080i, I'd go with 3910, as that's the max resolution you can get from that player. I myself upgraded from 2200 to 3910 and WAS very happy with the sound improvement (WAS ... because now my player is at the Denon's Repair Center :( )

if the choice is between the 2930 and the 3910 only then go for the 2930--no btb issues, no macroblocking, realta reon processing, great audio. no brainer, even with a 1080 i display the reon is better than the faroujda. also agreed that the best way to go is to save up for the 3930ci that has the hqv processing chip for the ultimate, best there will ever be in sd dvd video in all likelyhood--at least if you have a lot of sd-dvd's--if you plan on having a good audio universal and upgrading to hd video and watching that almost exclusively, the 2930 is a GREAT unit. The other advantage to the 39 series is significantly better build quality...

also the 3910 and 3930 have the burr brown 1796 dac's and the 2930 has b-b 1791 (not sure if on all channels or just front 2). definitely a difference worth considering for audio...
