Hi, I want to ask about either the Oppo 970 or 981 dvd player to be used on a Pioneer 5070HD Plasma. I've been doing some reading on both players and not sure if its worth the extra money getting the 981 since I've heard of some problems with macroblocking on plasma's. I dont know, maybe thats not an issue for the higher quality plasma's such as the 5070HD Pioneer. Can anyone lend some advice maybe using this combination? thanks alot

If you don't want to take the risk, the 970 is a safe choice.

thanks for the reply, I figured I would just go ahead and get the 970 for now, save some money till they come out with a new player that will play both HD and Blue ray. Meanwhile the 970 will serve its purpose for upscaling my older dvd's and playing my xvid's
