Hey guys,
I have been hanging around for quite some time, and have now made the conversion from a 36" tv to the HD1000u, and a wilsonart laminate screen.
The screen measures 72" corner to corner in 16:9 format. We were looking to renovate the room for quite some time, and with the way we put the new furniture required either a flat screen or projector. After much debate and considration, we decided upon the projector
The screen is Fashion Grey wilsonart laminate. It turns out one of their main distribution centers is in Wixom Michigan, about 15 minutes from my house, and was $86.50 out the door and available same day. The trim is painted flat black, and the brown paint is eggshell.
Overall I have decent light control in the room with the new blinds, but to be honest even with all the lights on and window open, the picture is still acceptable. It really shines with the HD programming at night though.
Let me know what you think (pics link below)
We absolutely love it, even as a TV conversion, it is easy to get used to, and I can't wait to start tweaking everything for the best picture. Also a PS3 is in the works for next week...can't wait.
