I hate to start another thread, but after this (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=810956) thread I have narrowed down my choice to Bic H-100 or The Outlaw LFM-2.

The SB12-Plus was just too much money.

I'm thinking the Outlaw LFM-2 has a really good WAF.

If the Bic H-100 is not considered to be much superior choice, I think I will go with the Outlaw.

Unlike source component technology (e.g., DVD players, displays, receivers) which change rapidly and constantly, speaker technology changes much more slowly. So if you buy quality speakers today, it will still sound good ten years from now...

I have Outlaw components (ICBM and RR2250) and they are very good quality. Their subwoofers are related to Dr. Hsu's subwoofers, so perhaps you should look at Hsu subwoofers as well.

I am not familiar with Bic but you should listen first (if you can).

Good luck!

I have definitely looked at the Hsu subs. The Outlaw LFM-2 is supposedly fairly identical to HSU STF-2.

However I like the 17 x 11.25 x 16.5 of the Outlaw vs the 19 x 14 x 18 of the Hsu.

The Outlaw LFM-2 is similar to the HSU STF-1. The STF-2 uses a larger enclosure to house it's bigger 10" driver. Along with 50 more watts it is in a different ball park.

The LFM-2 is comparable to the STF-1, but the LFM-2 has a lower tuning point @ 28 Hz, vs. 32 Hz for the STF-1.

Either one is great, but I do like the finish on the LFM-2 better FWIW.

I hate to start another thread, but after this thread I have narrowed down my choice to Bic H-100 or The Outlaw LFM-2.

I havent seen you mention in any of your threads..room size and for what usage ? ..more emphasis on spl's or musicality ? etc. etc.

I wouldnt expect an 8 inch woofer ( in the LFM-2) to produce anywhere close to the spl's of the 12 inch woofer or move as much air as the Bic would. So if you have a medium to large room and do HT Id think the Bic would be the way to go.. If you have a small room, and lean towards music and dont have a need for more spl's then the LFM-2 may do ya.

The room is 17 X 16 with 7.9 ceilings.

80% TV & Movies

20% Music

With a price of $319 I would take the Hsu STF 2 over the Outlaw LFM 1 at 299.

Easy choice imo . The Outlaw LFM-2 Im afraid just aint gonna move enough air in your environment given your stated usage. You'd be upgrading in no time.

It's really hard to keep track of all your different threads. :-)

I stick by my original recommendation:

Is there specific measurements you can't go over?

The BIC is 17 x 15 x 18.25, let's see....

The HSU STF-2 is 19 x 14 x 18, so it's just 2 inches taller, but 1 inch slimmer, and so is the VTF2.2 pretty much.

The Outlaw LFM-2 is a mere 17 x 11.25 x 16.5

The Mirage Omni S10 is 17 x 14.7 x 18.5

For my money it would be:

1) HSU VTF 2.2

2) HSU STF-2

3) Outlaw Audio LFM-2

4) Mirage S10 (4th mostly because of price @ $499)

I've never heard one thing made by BIC, so I can't comment on the H100.

I will get the opportunity to hear it in person in a couple of weeks.

I'm very much looking forward to it.

I hope you like it.
