Running cable from a wall mount lcd to just above the baseboard. I'm looking for solutions for a clean installation. Is there some sort of in wall conduit that I can run from the wall mount down. Also, I'd like to do something with the holes in the wall. Perhaps a grommet of some kind behind the wall mount. Is there some kind of finish plate for the lower end for ac, hdmi and component video cables? I know I could use a generic wall plate with a hole in it, but just wondering if there is something slick out there. Thanks!

Monoprice has a HDMI wall plate that's really a 4" HDMI extension cable. You could look into that.

the flex riser guard or raceway i personally think is the best route to go.

You can find it pretty much anywhere.

The power cord included with my LCD monitor is not long enough to make the run from the unit into the wall and out to AC. I can't imagine using an extension cord that connects inside the wall, so I 'm looking for a longer power cord. It is for a Sharp LCD and has a common two prong female connector (if I knew the name for it, I probably wouldn't have to post this!). Any advice?

Thats because you don't run power through conduit like that, have an electrical outlet wired in next to there the conduit ends.

Good point. I shouldn't run ac and low voltage together. So, you mean a receptacle behind the TV right?

Actually, the rule is not to prevent the ac/low voltages run together. Rather, the power cables are not rated for in-wall use. Install the receptacle directly behind the tv.
