Hello, I currently own a samsung 32hdtv41D

I have my ps2 hooked up via component cables (yes i know crap graphics)

My question is this. I am currently playing dragon quest, even when selecting widescreen mode in the game the picture has a 1.5 inch black bar on the left and right sides of the screen.

Is it ok for me to continue to play or could this lead to burn in on the edge of my screen?? I dont want to break my new baby =)

If that's an LCD TV then you really have no need to worry. Perminent image retention on LCD's isn't an issue.

Well thats good news, I was reading a previous post on a thread in this forum and someone was talking about ways to prevent screen burn in or pixels staying"on" i swear it was for lcds maybe it was plasmas though, thanks

Pixel's staying 'on' is an issue with lcd's but it's usually the kind of thing that either it's there or it's not..in other words, it's more likely a pixel being stuck would have been apparent when you first bought the lcd tv (if you hear about places offering a 'dead pixel' policy, there talking about this)
