Hello all,

I am going to order the Panasonic AX-100U 720p projector to go in my basement HT area. I am not sure which upconverting DVD player to get. I was thinking about the Oppo 981, but really don't need the 1080p and don't like that it doesn't have the option of component out (in case my receiver has an HDMi handshake problem, etc).

I plan to use the player for commercial DVD's, burned DVD's, CD's, burned CD's, and burned MP3 discs. I will use a Denon 987 or Marantz SR7001 as the receiver. I do want it to upconvert DVD's and it should have HDMI out.

I want to spend as much as or less than the oppo 981 ($229) for an upconverting DVD player. I have never had HDTV or one that can display progressive video until this projector, so I am new to this game.
