Being (relatively) inexperienced in the surround sound field, I have read hours and hours of posts and yet don't have a clear answer to which is the best way to listen to BD titles on my system. A little guidance would be appreciated.
I have a PS3, a Sony STR-DA4ES receiver and a Sony HDTV. I am planning on upgrading the receiver sometime in the next few months, but want to get the most out of my current system.
Since my receiver does not have HDMI, I am limited to optical audio. Which sounds better, DD5.1, DTS 5.1 or LPCM 5.1 (which would only be sent as 2.0)? Any help my specific situation would be appreciated.
