View Full Version : 24 or 26 gauge HDMI? steve7100 02-27-07, 07:32 PM Ordering from monoprice this evening and see that the 10ft 24g hdmi is out. If you need a significant bend then consider another type. steve7100 02-27-07, 08:47 PM Thanks, I think I will order the 26g. Also, my power cord is only 6ft, if I order a longer length power cord, Is it against code if I conceal it in the wall, run it down, then back out of the wall into the outlet jwatte 02-28-07, 03:19 AM Temporary (pluggable) power cords typically should not be concealed. Also, all concealed wire needs to be rated CL2 or better (should be clearly legible on the cable). The specifics of code in your locale can be found by just calling your local building department. They are usually quite willing to answer such questions (at least around here). I ordered a HDMI cable from BlueJeans rather than Monoprice; it was only slightly more expensive, and it had the benefit of being in stock :-) steve7100 02-28-07, 10:45 AM Temporary (pluggable) power cords typically should not be concealed. I did think the power cord was not up to code, just checking. All of my other cables and wires are up to code and rated for in wall installation. I was trying to avoid adding a outlet. The TV is corner mounted about and the bottom of the TV is 5 feet from the ground and the top is about a foot from the ceiling. Not my ideal situation, but it's not the main TV and it passes fiances approval after I hide the wires(all of em) whoaru99 03-01-07, 09:12 AM Ordering from monoprice this evening and see that the 10ft 24g hdmi is out.
