Hi guys, I'm putting together a basic home theater setup and J&R has the Polk RM6750 kit for $250. Can anyone give their experiences with this set? I'll likely be pairing it with a HK AVR-245, Yamaha HTR5960, or Yamaha RX-V659 receiver.

Frys has it online for $199. I listened to them at CC and thought they were okay. They were on my final list of speakers, but decided to go with bookshelves.
I'm assuming Bookshelves have better quality than Satellites? Can you put Bookshelves on stands or are they unmountable?

I got them and I really like them! The sub is a little weak but you can always upgrade that later.

Would you recommend selling the sub and purchasing a better quality sub? Also, what size room did you set them up in? I have a very small bedroom so I am curious.

I have a 12x12 bedroom.
I am going to sell the sub and buy the bic H-100 (240 dollars) but you can get pretty good subs for around 120
The Polk sub that comes with the set goes for about 80 bucks on ebay, pretty good price if you ask me :)

Yeah, that is certainly a good deal... $120 without the sub. This is my first HT system so this may be the best way for me to go. BUT, the more reading I do, the more I see people saying to just buy the pieces one at a time as my budget permits.
Ugh.

I guess it depends on how much you want to end up spending.
If you can only spend $300-400 right now you will not even be able to start a top of the line system. I figured I would go with this now then when I move into a bigger room I would go all out.
I dont have any room for big floor standing speakers right now anyway.
I went ahead and purchased this setup from Frys and will look into selling the sub and buy a better quality sub to take it's place. I was told that they are selling for around $80 on eBay, but I haven't seen any evidence of that.
