I bought this digital audio optical cable for my ps2 and when i connected it the audio will sometimes cut off for like 2 seconds. Im wondering if anyone else has this problem and would the problem be the cable, reciver or ps2 or is there no way to tell unless i have another ps2, cable or reciver to test it on?

hey there, yeah it happend to me before also. Sadly it was the PS2's optical port. I am using PS3 now, and knock on wood no issues...

I would suggest trying a different optical cable or a different connection on the receiver or a different receiver

Could also be due to an Ohm load that your receiver cannot handle , does it do it mainly when there should be low bass ? Does it do it mainly at higher volume levels ? Check to be sure your speakers do not have a lower Ohm rating than what your receiver can handle .

But then again it could just be a faulty cable or the PS2 itself ;) .

Thanks for the replys. I kind of think it might be the ps2 since Its a really old one and I never used the optical output.
