This site looks like a wonderful forum. I came here looking for some info and a quick search didn't do much but confuse me. There are a couple of PAL discs from the UK I would like to purchase and watch here. Is there a DVD player that does this automatically? Maybe one that upconverts to a max of 1080i/720p? If it helps this is my setup so far:
Denon AVR-2802
Denon DVD-1600
Toshiba DMR-ES15 DVD Recorder
HP LC3260N LCD
Sony Playstation 3
Paradigm Titans/Micros/CC170/PDR10
I'm not looking to spend a lot here but would like some bang for my buck.
Thanks in advance.

All of the Oppo models will play PAL discs and do PAL->NTSC conversion. All can be made region-free by entering a code with the remote: http://www.oppodigital.com/. The 970 is $149, but the 981 has better PAL playback and is $229.
If you want to look for others, this search page has a check box for "Multisystem PAL/NTSC": http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers. Caution though: I'm not sure multisystem implies PAL->NTSC conversion, so research well.

I see a lot of talk about the Oppos on here so they must be a decent player. I'll prolly just go with one of those maybe the newest one with DCDi.
