Just got a Denon 557 to replace a dead (less than a year old) Sony 75H and I must say that this is a great TV-DVD player combination, to my eyes.
Was going to get the LG BH100 BD/HD player but it does not seem ready for prime time yet - too buggy. Considered an Oppo but it was $220 and mail-order only so I thought I'd try the Denon first and see if I liked it.
I feel that the image of the denon is both clearer and has better color than the 75H did on the SXRD. The denon was about $50 more than the sony but given that I prefer its picture (and I hope it will last longer), I feel for now that it was worth it.
I have another 75H paired with a panny 42" HD plasma and it is also a very cood combination. The 75H pairs better with the plasma than the SXRD to me.
Just thought I'd share my experience in case anyone was looking for a good, inexpensive player for their SXRD.
