Hi all, lets say i'm watching a recording and i want to create a chapter, is there a way i can do that quickly without having stop watching the recording and going into the edit menu? It would be nice if there was a "create chapter" button on the remote so that while watching a recording, you can just press that button and it will automatically create a chapter there.

This is exactly what is done on the Panasonic recorder if using a DVD-RAM or HDD. Press the chapter button while you are watching the recorded video.

so you can't do something similar with the Pioneer? not even going into a menu while the show is playing instead of stopping the recording and going into the edit menu?

Which Pioneer DVD recorder do you have? My Pioneer DVR-510H-S has a chapter button on the remote that works the way you describe (but not with timer recordings). I expect the 533 and 640 might recognize this remote command if you programmed it into a Harmony or similar remote control.
