Can't get 1080P on my T.V. 480P, 720P, and 1080i all are fine. Used Oppo's HDMI, and two of my own HDMI cables. I have the 981 run through my Pioneer Elite 74TXvi A/V recvr. Tried going directly to the 50A2000 from the Oppo...No luck.

Yes I've used both inputs(6 & 7), all I've gotten so far for 1080P is a blank screen almost the same exact color of this purple border on this site. I've had Oppo send me their latest/greatest Beta (t122)firmware update, but have not gotten it yet. Don't even know if it addresses " My" issue or not. If I switch the resolution to 1080P and get the purple screen, I cannot do anything w/ the Oppo. It locks up and the T.V. display will lock unless I cycle through the Oppo's res. to anything other than 1080P, and cycle the T.V.'s input source back to input 6 or 7(whichever I was using), then I'll get the DVD signal to display again. Once I stop the Oppo to sw. res. to 1080P...the HDMI indicator on my receiver will blink, indicating that the handshaking process is taking place(as normal), but never stops blinking/recognizes the signal.

Does this sound familiar to anyone, or know what is going on ???

I have the same set up, "KDS-50A2000/Oppo 981" and am having no problems at all. I just recently purchased the 981.
